Vertigo of Duplication: Rerunning Western cultural symbols, Vertigo of Duplication explores the sea of images in which we float through today’s television- and Internet-immersed Western World. Using a six video channels and consciously low-tech means of interactivity, I want to talk about how age-old symbols have lost meaning, apparent victims of overexposure. Art is also an accomplice in this vertigo of duplication, a historical development that can be traced back before Guttenberg but has certainly entered a new phase in the information age.
