alberto roblest is a poet and videoartist, whose visual poetry , experimental documentaries and art pieces frequently explore worldwide environmental and social themes. He has shown video installations and single channel work in museums and galleries in his native Mexico, the United States, Canada and in several European countries. The Mexican Fund for Culture and the Arts awarded him a fellowship in 1992 1993. He received a degree in Communications Science at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) and later worked as a professor at the university. He has produced more than four dozen videos and published six volumes of poetry. His poems often play a central part in his visual art. The books are "De la Ciudad y Otras Pequeñeces 1989)"; "El Futuro y Los Anillos (1990)"; "Chicaneando (1992)"; "Del Silencio en las Ciudades (1998)", "Las Andanzas del Huy Huy y el Chichicaxtle con su Ñero (2000)"; and "Ortografía para piromaniacos " (2002). He is a member of VideoSpace, a group of Boston-area video artists and curators. Currently resides in Washington DC. These are a few of Mr. Roblest's exhibitions:
